The Robson Ranch Genealogy Club, Ropin’ In Yer Relatives, is starting up again for the 2021–22 season.
This year, the club is hosting a Beginning Genealogy Seminar on Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m. in the Laredo Room. This is the perfect opportunity to learn how to start building your family tree and researching your ancestors. Our guest speaker will review a step-by-step process on how to begin your research and what pitfalls to avoid as a beginning genealogist. Registration is required because there will be pre-work prior to the seminar.
Our first club get together is a potluck dinner hosted by the president of our club, Dan Wheeler, at his home on Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. This is a great way to meet the current club members and socialize a bit. The group discusses the speakers for the coming year as well as having members share what genealogy discoveries they had over the summer. Attendees are requested to bring a dish to pass, their beverage of choice, and a lawn chair.
After that, the club gets into full swing. meeting the first and third Tuesday of every month through the end of March. Meetings are at 7 p.m. in the Laredo Room. Our selected speakers cover a variety of topics that are of interest to club members, both beginners and advanced genealogists.
Dues to join the Ropin’ In Yer Relatives club are $20 per person or $25 per couple. For more information, contact Pat Sand at [email protected] or join our group on www.nextdoor.com.
