Opening Day: The 2014-15 RRLGA season kicked off on October 21 with 20 ladies who braved pesky mosquitos to play 3-clubs and a putter! With their three “best friends” and putter they also endured cart path only. Jim Moore, pro shop manager, also introduced the new golf pro, Jay Wilson, to the group. Kudos to all who played! Winners: Flight 1 – Bobbie Johnson low gross; Net 1st Sue Waibel; 2nd Candy Burtis; 3rd Pam Costner. Flight 2 – Dee Lee low gross; Net 1st Debbie Hatcher; 2nd Fran Fowler; 3rd Joanne Sanchez. Flight 3 – Mary Syer low gross; Net 1st Jeri Srenaski; 2nd Sherry Ameling; 3rd Patti Baumann.

RRLGA was well represented at November 3 Central Arizona Golf District (CAGD) Tournament.
Sixteen ladies left the Ranch Sunday morning, November 2, heading to Wickenburg for a fun overnight stay and to play in a tournament the following day at Los Caballeros Golf Club. This was the first time several ladies played in this popular two-person best ball tournament. After having lunch at the course on Sunday, everyone played a practice round that included different side bets. It was duly noted that Debbie Hatcher beat two ladies for longest drive on one hole. We won’t mention any names, but the initials are SWa and CB! The group enjoyed dinner at a favorite Mexican restaurant and then headed back to the hotel for more fun and games.
Three Robson teams tied for fourth place in Flight 2; after a card play-off, Bobbie Johnson and Pat Linderman were awarded fourth place. Dee Lee and Debby Harris beat their opponents by one stroke on the last hole to place fourth in Flight 5. Is there any truth to the rumor that Debby bought golf balls with her winnings to replace those she lost on Sunday? This was a good showing for RRLGA considering that there were 112 ladies playing in the tournament. Congratulations to Bobbie, Pat, Dee and Debby; great job!
