Fun in the Sun with Essential Oils

JoAnne Gaudioso

Summer means a lot of time in the sun. It’s important to be prepared with only the best natural products so that you and your family can make the most of your sun-filled break.

Even though Florida is known as the “Sunshine State,” Arizona actually has, on average, more sunny days. We are constantly aware of the tremendous sun exposure we receive here, even during the winter months. For that reason, combined with our high elevation, we are always mindful of taking proper care for our skin.

Essential oils cannot help us screen out the harmful rays of the sun. They can, however, help us replenish and nourish our skin before and after our fun in the sun.

There is nothing more comforting than having a blend ready to soothe your skin after a day in the sun. Some fabulous essential oils to blend with are: lavender, German chamomile, helichrysum, frankincense, and myrrh.

Sunshine is essential—burns are not. Follow these ideas for sunny summer fun, without the aftermath of exposure. Protect, refresh, and soothe your skin with easy-to-make essential oil blends.
