Desiree Conwell came to the Ranch in June 2020 from Illinois and joined the Desert Woodcrafters in September with no experience working with wood. Desiree took our basic handle class, where members learned about the lathe and basic cutting tools, as well as our basic lathe and bowl turning class, which is a good way to get started creating some unique and usable items. Desiree did just that and turned a beautiful bowl made from cherry and hard maple woods. She also turned a unique bottle stopper made from zebra wood. She looked like she was having fun and is looking forward to the next bowl.
