For the second year, the Democratic Club of Robson Ranch (DCRR) will be hosting a booth at the Eloy Fiestas Patrias, sponsored by the Corazon de Latinos Unidos, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, in downtown Eloy. The event celebrates Mexico’s Independence Day and the name means “homeland celebration.” There will be musical entertainment, food vendors, cultural activities, and craft and information booths. The event includes a parade on Saturday morning, in which many school and community groups participate. Parking and attendance are free.
The DCRR will be focusing on getting people to register and vote, as they did last year. For 2022, in conjunction with the Casa Grande Democrats and the Pinal County Democratic Party, they will also host a children’s activity. They will be giving out 100 boxes of colored markers for those who participate in drawing a mural with the theme, “What Freedom Means to Me.” The activity is non-partisan and will be located adjacent to the DCRR booth. This event is a great way for Robson residents to meet the locals and help celebrate the Latino cultural background of many who live in the area.
Event days and times are: Friday, Sept.16, from noon to 11 p.m. (DCRR booth open noon to 4 p.m.), and Saturday, Sept.17, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., beginning with the parade at 9 a.m. (DCRR booth open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
