Where not to fly a drone

Butch Spiller

Drones have become quite popular over the past few years. They range in price from under $100 to over $10,000. You may have received one as a gift and have yet to attempt at flying it. One place you do not want to fly a drone is in your backyard or anywhere near your home. There are many federal restrictions as to where we can fly these devices and drone etiquette such as avoiding flying them over populated areas and avoiding interfering with others’ privacy must be observed. There are also practical issues such as flying into trees and brush and ending up with a drone perched on your roof.

So where in Robson Ranch is it practical to fly your drone? The Robson Ranch RC Club has the perfect solution. The Robson Ranch RC Park is a great facility to put those flying cameras in the air. Our runways have no obstructions such as trees and brush. There are no houses nearby and you can’t interfere with anyone’s privacy. In addition, the local airport authorities are aware of the flight operations taking place at the RC Park.

The club enforces safety requirements for UAV’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) as well as federal regulations.

In addition, many club members have experience flying drones and can be quite helpful to a beginner.

Members of the club have access to the RC Club facilities 24/7. Membership is open to all Robson Ranch residents and annual membership dues are only $30.
