Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer wherever you may be.
First off, this is my last year as program director, but Bruce Brothus has stepped up to be my assistant this season and will take over the duties come next spring.
For those of you who are new to the community or club, the Robson Ranch Softball Club is involved in two leagues during the fall, winter, and spring. One is an in-house league that plays on Saturdays and some Sundays, made up of only Robson Ranch residents. The other league we are involved with is run by the Palm Creek Softball Club and is made up of players from other 55+ communities, which includes Sundance, Fiesta Grande, and Mission Royale. The Palm Creek fall league begins the first week in November and ends the second week of December. These games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You are welcome to play in one or both leagues. There is a separate annual membership fee to play in the Palm Creek league. More information on the Palm Creek league will follow once we get closer to their sign-ups.
For the first time, Robson Ranch will be having an October in-house season beginning Saturday, Oct. 7, through Saturday, Oct. 28. This will be a 4-week season consisting of a minimum of three teams. All games will be on Saturdays. Sign-ups for this league begin on Aug. 15 and will end on Sept. 15. If you are interested in playing the October in-house season, we ask that all players must be available to play in all four games. If you cannot play in all four games, you can still sign up as a sub. If you are interested in playing in the October season, please sign up at palmcreeksoftball.sportngin.com/register/form/712597926. I realize it says Palm Creek, but we are using their management system for the running of our league.
Immediately following the October season, we will begin our 6-week Robson Ranch fall season, beginning Nov. 4 through Dec. 16. We will be taking off the weekend of Thanksgiving during that season. Sign-ups for this league begin on Sept. 15 and will end on Oct. 15. A reminder will be sent out in September to sign up.
We will address the winter and spring leagues for both Robson Ranch and Palm Creek at a future date.
To run a smooth and successful program, it takes many hands. Without volunteers, we would not be able to run the softball program. It is important that everyone in the club lends a helping hand to lighten the load of those members who overextend themselves. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to volunteer as well; many have and they are much appreciated. Below is a list of areas where we need your help. Please look at the list and let us know what you would like to help with.
