The Material Girls’ calendar reflects the beginning of the summer season, and so the sewing room is open for quilting/sewing on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The projects committee is planning some summer classes and activities; they are still in the planning stages so watch for some fun stuff to start in June. If you have any questions contact Joy Swanson at 319-759-8765, [email protected]

Robson Ranch Material Girls delivered handmade quilts to new residents and pillowcases to all residents at the Eloy Senior Center Apartments. This was our fifth year of making quilts and pillowcases for the Eloy Senior Apartments; they were delivered by Marge Doughty, Karen Karpinski, Jane Schroer and Rebecca McKinney. The new residents and the Material Girls were also treated to some very nice refreshments from the Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens.

In addition, Material Girls have made and given over 100 comfort quilts to our own residents for a serious life threatening illness or loss of a spouse. Please contact either Marge Doughty at 360-739-999, [email protected]; Doug Kant at 989-860-0692, [email protected]; Karen Karpinski at 815-942-0766, [email protected]; Margie Blissett at 509-939-5269, [email protected]; Jane Schroer at 512-565-4867, [email protected]; Karen Furu at 520-426-4366, [email protected]; Gayle Strack at 520-483-1245, [email protected] if you know a Robson resident who might be in need of one of our comfort quilts.

This year the Material Girls have decided to also donate quilts to the Cancer Center along with the Eloy Police, The Advocacy Center as needed.
