Library Collection Once Again Available to Residents

Laura Jackson

In March, the Robson Ranch Library Exchange began accepting email requests for books from the collection.

Due to the pandemic, the library closed in March 2020. Since then, the RR Library Exchange Team and other resident volunteers have been working to make the collection accessible in a manner that aligns with pandemic safety guidelines.

The Robson Ranch Library Exchange Team sought guidance and support from our HOA management, as well as the Robson at SaddleBrooke Ranch Library Team who provided guidance on reopening during the pandemic.

To make our library books accessible, the library team created a digital inventory of the almost 2,000 titles in the collection. The collection is divided into fiction and nonfiction and includes 25 sub-genres, ranging from autobiography to western.

By far, the largest sub-genre in the library is mystery/crime with more than 500 books, including more than 40 titles by James Patterson. Romance, with more than 250 titles follows and nearly 30 titles by Fern Michaels. Autobiography and history are the largest nonfiction sections.

The library has always relied on the generosity of Robson Ranch residents for donations of books, magazines, puzzles, and digital media. When a call for donations was made in February, Robson Ranch residents once again demonstrated their generosity by delivering hundreds of books, magazines, puzzles, and audio books. Our library shelves are now bursting. Consequently, we are not accepting donations at this time.

Residents can find information about the library and its collection by logging on to the Robson Ranch HOA website at www.robsonranchazhoa.org. The library is located in the Sports Center and library information is under the Sports Center tab. There are links at the bottom of the page where residents can peruse the fiction and nonfiction collections. Residents can request books from the collection by emailing [email protected].

Email book request deadlines are Monday by noon for a Wednesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. pick-up, or Thursday by noon for pick-up on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Books for pick-up will be on a cart in the hallway outside the library. The bin in the hallway is for returns.

The Robson Ranch Library team is excited about making the library collection safely accessible to residents. We look forward to the time the library collection can be made accessible in person. Until then, we hope you enjoy this opportunity!
