Doris Betuel
Janet Vaupel and her sister-in-law, Susan, are our featured glass fusing artists this month. Both Janet and Susan moved to Robson Ranch a little over a year ago, and joined the Robson Ranch Fused Glass Club soon afterwards. Without any prior experience in cutting glass or fusing glass, both have embraced the fun and challenges of glass fusing and have created some memorable masterpieces! Check out some of their works of art in the showcase by Studio 5 in the Creative Arts Center. They are an inspiration to new members and have become very active in Fused Glass Club activities, including monitoring and working the kilns.
Janet is an avid dog lover who was terrified of dogs as a youngster. She quickly outgrew this fear and at one point, owned six dogs! In addition, Janet enjoys playing pickleball, which she squeezes in when she is not in the studio creating her glass art. Susan started her career in mortgage banking, but realized her true passion was working with people and ended her career managing activities at a recreational center. Susan is married to Janet’s brother, Scott, and enjoys time with her grandchildren when she and Scott are able to get away.
If you are interested in joining the Fused Glass Club, we have started conducting beginner orientation sessions again. Please contact Mary Nunn at [email protected] or Doris Betuel at [email protected] to see about signing up for an orientation session.
