Mike Consentino
The first Robson Ranch Arizona cribbage tournament was held on Saturday, April 23, in the Pima/Toltec rooms at the sports center. A total of 10 games were played. We had 22 players vying for the top prize. It came down to the wire on several games. Patty Treit came in first with a total of 1,195 points. Leonard Taylor was a close second with 1,192 points. Jim LaCroix and Mike Consentino both had 1,181 points, so they had to go to a tie-breaker, with Jim coming out on top by 4 points. Butch Gladden finished the top 5 with 1,163 points. I want to thank all those who helped with support and setup. I also want to thank all the people who came to play.
Cribbage is one of the best two-hand games—and one of the most enduring, as the game was entertaining card players as far back as the seventeenth century. Cribbage affords players both the anticipation of the luck of the deal, as well as ample opportunity to exercise their skills in discarding and play.
