Chabad of Casa Grande

As the holiday of Chanukah is approaching, this year there is a different feeling in the air. After the atrocities that occurred in Israel on Oct. 7, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, there has been a major awakening across the world. Now more than ever we feel the importance of gathering together and kindling more light, and the spirit of Chanukah offers a perfect opportunity to celebrate Jewish pride and freedom. This year, join us for a grand Chanukah party and public menorah lighting organized by Chabad of Casa Grande, where we’ll come together to commemorate the enduring strength and resilience of the Jewish people.

Date: Dec. 10, 5 p.m.

Location: Casa Grande City Hall, 510 E. Florence Blvd.

Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a significant Jewish holiday that commemorates the miracle of the oil that burned for eight days in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem. But it’s more than just a historical event. Chanukah symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, freedom over oppression, and hope over despair.

This year’s Chanukah celebration is not just a local event; it’s a statement of solidarity and pride. In a world where diversity and acceptance are more important than ever, showing up for Jewish pride is a powerful message. By joining us, you’ll be part of a community that values and celebrates its rich heritage.

The highlight of the evening will be the public menorah lighting ceremony. As we light the menorah, we will be reminded of the power of light always being triumphant over darkness. In the strength of unity and faith and the importance of standing together in the face of adversity. This ritual serves as a beacon of hope, not only for the Jewish community but for all who cherish the values of freedom and religious tolerance.

Our Chanukah celebration will feature a range of entertainment and activities for all ages. From traditional Jewish songs to lively LED juggler and dance performances, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Delicious hot kosher latkes and donuts will be served, and children can participate in fun crafts.

We welcome everyone to our Chanukah celebration, regardless of their background or beliefs. Together, we can embrace the universal values of freedom, unity, and tolerance. Mark your calendars, invite your friends, and join us for a memorable evening of joy, reflection, and Jewish pride.
