Booby Bingo

Booby Bingo, what’s that? Robson Ranch residents found out on November 16. The event with the catchy title was the brain child of Robin Tisinger, Robson resident, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention.

The event was set up with 10 games, one winner per game for a cost of $10. Additional packs of 10 bingo cards could also be purchased at the door for an additional $2.50 per pack. The proceeds were to be split 50/50 between the Cancer Support Center and the 10 game winners.

The occasion was a huge success with $1,400 collected! The Cancer Support Center received $700 and the remaining $700 was split between the 10 bingo winners. Three of the winners added to the Cancer Support Center’s portion by donating back their winnings as well.

Robin Tisinger continued her support of the event by presenting two personally hand embellished T-shirts to the longest cancer survivor that evening. The prize went to a guest of one of our residents who contracted the disease at the age of 37 and was now 50 years cancer free at the age of 87. Robin also donated several handmade pink ribbon pins and Charlene Rule generously contributed several of her hand painted tiles as prize giveaways.

Diane Gaines, Director of the Cancer Support Center, was in attendance for the occasion and commented on the fun-loving crowd and what an outstanding job Robin Tisinger did in organizing the event.

The donation made on behalf of the attendees will go to pay for weekly classes, support groups and services provided to patients and their families.
