The Robson Luau Pool party was very well attended and fun was had by all. Good friends, great Hawaiian music, authentic Hawaiian style entertainment, a special offering from the amazing “Robson Hula Maidens” and a little comedy (involving Robson men and coconut bras).
The party was co-hosted by Robson Ranch and new residents Byron and Casey Noelani Kellar. Casey and Byron have spent most of their lives living between Oregon and Hawaii, with the last many years as full-time residents on Kauai. Casey and her Kauai Hula sisters have won many Hula contests and performed regularly at many Hawaiian Hula shows and nightspots. Casey took third place in the Ms. Hawaiian Hula International contest judged by the Merry Monarch Judges, which is a big honor.
Byron Kellar, Casey’s husband, was the MC. He is full of fun and helped set the stage for the performance and kept the show moving along.
When the Kellars were asked why they chose Robson, the beauty and location of Robson combined with the fact that they now want to do some more traveling and have moved to the “Mainland” to be near an easy exit airport as it is difficult to travel from Kauai to other parts of the world; plus Byron states they wanted to experience desert living.
The wonderful performer Rudy with his ukulele and guitar has spent years as a professional entertainer in Waikiki and has relocated to Chandler where he and his Hawaiian friends now have a Hawaiian band and full performance troupe.
The wonderful “Robson Hula Maidens” were a representation from Casey’s Hula class. The Hula class was a limited offering of six weeks of class and ended with the performance of some of the lovely ladies from the class that volunteered to dance for the crowd to show what they had accomplished. Byron and Casey thought that offering the class and helping with this party would help them meet other residents to help them mainstream into their new community.
The Kellars want to thank Betty and Jean for all their wonderful help in the coordination of this event sponsored both by Robson Ranch and the Kellars.
By the way, the Robson Hula Maidens did more than just dance. They helped behind the scenes with various duties to help make the event the success. A big Mahalo (thanks), Ladies!
Aloha and Mahalo!
