The Robson Ranch Genealogy Club, Ropin’ in Yer Relatives, held an ancestry.com training session on Saturday, Jan. 15, in the Laredo Room. Marilyn Simleness, a local genealogist, showed the group of over 20 attendees how to build a family tree online.
The two-hour class was chock-full of navigational tips and methods to build a family tree on ancestry.com. The participants were engaged and enjoyed the speaker’s personalization of her own genealogy.
At the regular club meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18, Jason Kruski, a Chicago-based genealogist, spoke to the group via Zoom about researching Polish ancestors. The group received some solid tips on how to do research in the United States and Poland. Jason shared his knowledge on Poland’s culture and surnames.
