November 7 begins our fourth season for Robson Unplugged. We thank you for the support you have given us and look forward to our newest season. As you may know, this venue provides opportunities for resident musicians and local musicians to perform in a more acoustic environment. Each month we feature a variety of styles and work at keeping the program fresh.
We will start the new season with music from the era of the great crooners and big bands. Let us take you down memory lane with great songs like All of Me, Mack the Knife and Route 66 that were performed by legendary entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Judy Garland and Nat King Cole.
From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. our own trio from Robson, Standard Fare, featuring Julie Casey, Skip Syer and John Sutton will dazzle you with their own interpretations of these fine songs. By the way, Standard Fare is becoming quite popular and you can find them performing on a regular basis in Phoenix and Tucson.
At 7:00 p.m. look for the return of Larry Marik. Larry is no stranger to Robson and has played his saxophone with the Central Arizona College Jazz Band, The Time Bandits, Andy Hockett’s Dixieland Band and Bob Burtch’s Elvis show. Larry is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in two states and travelled for several summers with the Beach Boys as an opening act. Larry will play great arrangements of the big band, swing songs done in the past by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and others.
Come on out November 7 and let yourself be entertained. We look forward to seeing you there.
