From Nov. 3 through 7, eight couples in the Vagabonds RV Club enjoyed a trip to Wahweap Campground in Page, Ariz., during the Lake Powell Balloon Regatta led by Lee and Renee Kleinjan and assisted by Brian and Gloria Younge and Gene and Sharon Bond. Others attending were: Esther Aar and Stan Strickland, Jeff and Pat Lund, Brenda and Mike Allibone, Lynne Chellew and Randee Frost, and David and Jill Riker. Even though Thursday brought snowy weather to Flagstaff, the couples not already in Page braved the winter weather and continued on to Page.

Since the hot air balloons were grounded for the first two days, there were many different activities for people to enjoy while in Page: tours of Antelope Canyon, visits to Horseshoe Bend, golf, and the Page Street Fair. Saturday night we ventured to Big John’s Texas Barbecue for dinner. While eating, we were treated to a band playing. The most exciting event was the starting lineup for the hot air balloon glow right outside the restaurant. Phone cameras were busy taking pictures of the exciting glow event. The group also saw 23 hot air balloons in the air while enjoying breakfast on Sunday.

Sunday night the group gathered at the Dam Bar and Grill in Page for happy hour before attending the Red Heritage Navajo Dinner Show (formerly known as Into the Grand). We had the opportunity to enjoy fry bread tacos and dessert while learning about Navajo culture. The main attraction of the night were the Navajo dancers in full costume, including an expert ring dancer using 25 rings!

Monday morning brought the rally to a close with the group starting their drive back to Robson Ranch.
