Has an Active Calendar of Activities Planned
With summer temperatures starting to cool down and the fall season just around the corner, it is time to start planning your 2014-2015 Tennis Club at Robson Ranch season! So pick up your tennis racquets, put on your tennis shoes and head to the tennis courts for the many fun-filled activities that the Activities Committee has planned! From tournaments to Friday Night Social, you are sure to find a tennis match for you!
As always, women’s social round robin will be Monday and Thursday mornings; men’s social round robin will be Tuesday and Friday mornings. On Saturday mornings, mixed social robin will be played. If you’d like to get a match set up, be sure to reserve a court on the white board located at the bulletin boards by the Sports Club. Tennis Club members have top priority for reserving courts.
Whether you have a partner or not, you are invited to compete in a few tournaments this season. In October, SunBird community from Chandler will be traveling to Robson for a one-day mini-tournament. The Tennis Club’s second annual winter tournament will be held December 13-14. Players from surrounding communities will once again compete in this two-day tournament. In January, Robson will be traveling to Springfield community to compete in a one-day mini-tournament. Look for sign-up sheets, which will be posted at the bulletin boards, to play in these tournaments. Men’s and women’s doubles as well as mixed doubles matches will be played against like-rated players in all three events.
Socializing is also part of the fun here at Robson! The first annual kick-off-the-season social will be held November 1. A potluck will immediately follow the skills competition and blind draw social play. The third Friday of each month from 4:00-6:00 p.m. is Friday Night Social. After playing a social round robin format, players and their spouses head over to the restaurant for dinner and drinks together.
Last, the Desert Cactus Tennis League will begin the 2015 season on January 14 with men’s doubles. Women’s doubles begin January 15; mixed doubles January 17. Why not join us!
