The Robson Ranch Social Bridge Club held its first summer bridge tournament on Wednesday, August 19. There were 16 players. The play started at 10:00 a.m., and three rounds of six hands each were played in the morning round. Following morning play Robson’s catering department provided a wonderful lunch. They had build-your-own sandwiches with several meats, cheeses and toppings of tomatoes, lettuce and onion. There were two salads, pasta and potato salad, along with homemade potato chips and cookies.
Following lunch, bridge play continued with three more rounds played. The group concluded with prizes awarded. The top prize went to Kent Jensen with a score of 4,940. Second place was Carol Male with 4,290; third place was Phyllis Davis with 4,140; fourth place winner was Fran Flower with a score of 4,040; and there was a tie for fifth place with Linda Sue Jensen and Sandy Christopher each scoring 3,850.
Other prizes awarded were 4 Kings, Kent Jensen; 4 Aces, Linda Sue Jensen; 4 Queens, Phyllis Davis; and 150 Honors, Fran Fowler. Low score of the day went to Anne Terrill.
Committee members for our summer event were Carol Male and Laurie Waluk. Many thanks for a job well done! We all look forward to our fall and winter tournaments.
