Softball Practice and Evaluations Are on the Way

Bill Schaible

It is that time of year again when activities around the Ranch begin to pick up. Softball is no exception. It has been a very hot summer to say the least, but we have managed to get practice in throughout the summer.

With the COVID-19 virus still affecting our nation, it is uncertain if we will be able to play softball this coming fall and/or winter seasons. However, since Governor Ducey has recently allowed outside recreation areas to reopen, we are hopeful to be able to play ball with CDC recommendations applied.

Whether you are male or female, if you are interested in playing competitive softball, please come and join us. Right now, we are limited as to how many people can practice at one time, so if you are interested in joining us, please let us know so we can make sure we don’t over book. We may have to have two sessions if we have an abundance of players that want to practice. We are practicing every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 7:30 a.m., prior to the fall season. Once the seasons are upon us, games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we will continue with the Saturday practices through the seasons. Please come out and join us. Everyone is welcome.

If you are not sure competitive softball is for you, but you still would like to have some fun playing softball, you can still come the first Saturday of every month beginning in January, at 1 p.m., to play a little pick-up game with your neighbors. This is run by Artie and Dixie Wachter.

If playing is not your game but you enjoy watching, we are also in need of many volunteers. Let us know your interest, and we will see if we can find a spot for you.
