Robson Ranch will be holding a presentation series aimed at seniors put on by the attorney general’s office. Senior Outreach Coordinator Betty Delano, from the Outreach and Education Division, will be at the ranch on the dates below.
All presentations will be free and will be held in the Hermosa Ballroom of the ranch house starting at 10:00 a.m. After each presentation, there will be time for a Q&A session.
Thursday, Sept. 26: Consumer Scams and Identity Theft
This presentation will discuss the most recent scams and the ‘red flags’ to watch out for so that you can learn how scammers operate. It will also talk about identity theft and what you can do to prevent yourself from becoming a victim and what to do if your identity is stolen. You will also receive a copy of the Attorney General’s Consumer Scam publication.
Tuesday, Oct, 15: Life Care Planning
In this presentation, you will learn about the legal forms to have to prepare for any life-changing events. You will receive a copy of the Attorney General’s Life Care Planning packet.
Monday, Nov. 18: Task Force Against Senior Abuse
During this presentation, you will learn about the Task Force Against Senior Abuse, created to protect seniors from exploitation, abuse, and neglect. You will learn about their mission, common crimes against seniors, and how you can prevent these from happening to you. The Task Force Against Senior Abuse (TASA) is comprised of specialized attorneys, investigators, and outreach specialists all from the attorney general’s office. Our advisory group works with Adult Protective Services, Area Agency on Aging and local law enforcement. The focus is to educate and heighten awareness about what senior and elder abuse is, how we can help prevent it in our state, and to vigorously prosecute cases.
