We recently had an amazing end-of-the-year party, which was hosted by Peggy Morris in her home. The party was a big success, with a lot of delicious food, and lasagne as the main course. During the party, we held a raffle, and several genealogy books, a coffee mug, and some filing aids were given as prizes. Fortunately, the weather was pleasant, and some of us enjoyed sitting outside and soaking up the sunshine.
The board members were unanimously re-elected for another year: Dan Wheeler, President; Michael Vodrazka, Treasurer; Pat Sand, Education Director; Judy Gottsch, Secretary; and Sandy Rasmussen, Librarian. Members also voted to raise dues by $5 to cover the cost of speakers.
The group discussed members’ responses to our survey. Topics that were of major interest were: European research, getting organized, and using online software. Several members indicated they were willing to volunteer, as well as be a speaker in the upcoming year that begins in the fall.
We are excited to explore some interesting topics in the upcoming year of 2024-25. We look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall!
