Robson Ranch Bridge Society Begins

The Robson Ranch Bridge Society plays duplicate bridge on Thursday evenings.

There is a new game in town. The Robson Ranch Bridge Society (RRBS) has been formed; we were chartered by the Robson Ranch HOA in July 2022.

We are ramping up our plans for the launch of several activities this autumn. First, in late October, there will be free bridge lessons for novices/beginners. We promise to make it fun and easy. Trust us, we will help you become rather confident in no time. Please keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements about how to register.

Next, there will be an informal communitywide Meet & Greet social event in the Hermosa III Ballroom from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 2. Admission is free. You’ll meet members of the RRBS, become familiar with how the group operates, and have the opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate for BeDillon’s Restaurant.

Also, we have arrangements in place for the RRBS to help raise money for the Santa Cruz Valley Food Pantry and the Valley Humane Society.

One of our goals is to have at least some events sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). Not all of our events, but some. That way, players can earn masterpoints if they choose to do so.

There are plans in the works for the “Robson Slam Tournament” in March/April 2023, with teams from PebbleCreek, SaddleBrooke, Sun Lakes, and other Robson properties.

The RRBS plays duplicate bridge (not party/social bridge or marathon bridge). We are determined to have a culture that promotes fun and the enrichment of lives. Currently, our bridge sessions are on Thursday evenings.

Don’t be shy. We can help you find a partner if you do not have one already.

Current interim officers for the RRBS are Samuel Ellis (president), Joanne Johnson (vice president), Sandra Christopher (treasurer), and Dell Hoff (secretary).
