Quilts for Shelters

Sue Bart

Members of Desert Threads, a chapter of Arizona Quilters Guild, have kept busy making children’s quilts for area shelters. Jody Edwards, community services chair, hosted a sort, cut, organize, and kit making day at her home in Sun Lakes. Sue Bart made many kits which the members have been making into soft quilts for children. These will be distributed in May. Other members have created many quilts from their own stash of fabrics for donation.

Our April meeting will be a virtual Zoom meeting. The topic planned is about batting. Prizes will be awarded. Members are asked to bring projects they have worked on for a show and tell. Our May meeting will be at the Phoenix Room in Cottonwood (at the Sun Lakes community). We will gather outside (wear a mask) and have the many donation quilts on display inside. The new officers will be introduced and other business covered. Bring a show-and-tell item.
