The Material Girls are anxious for the return of the Craft Fair being held on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hermosa Ballroom. This event is the primary source of income for the club, which allows quilters, sewing enthusiasts, machine embroiderists, and garment sewers to use the all-encompassing equipment and facilities to explore their craft. Even though COVID-19 has limited the use of the facility in some cases, many have still been involved with their craft and have spent those hours at home creating some truly beautiful and fun items. If you have been thinking of the cooler weather coming up and would love to cuddle up with a warm and comfy quilt, or perhaps select from the many microwave bowl covers to carry your piping-hot container to the table, you may just find it at the fair. Maybe you would like to select from some handy kitchen items such as pot holders, trivets, and unique kitchen towels. Among some of the other items are totes, purses, holiday items, key fobs, wine coasters and accessories, and even some card game mats. There are new items this year, so don’t miss out.

These are original creations from the many talented members. The holidays will be here soon, so this will be the perfect place to look for something special. We hope you will stop in and take advantage of the countless items that will be available for sale.

Also, be sure and look at this year’s quilt on display. It is a beautiful quilt displaying most of the native cactus in the Arizona desert. You can purchase tickets to win this quilt at the fair by purchasing a ticket or multiples: 1 ticket = $1, 6 tickets = $5, 12 tickets = $10, or increase your odds by buying 25 tickets at $20. The sale from these tickets is then entered into the Material Girls’ coffers to purchase equipment, supplies, and fabric. The drawing will be held at the end of fair day at 2 p.m. You need not be present to win.

Join us any time on the scheduled days of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday to come and sew or just come in to get some information about the goings on. Look to the back page of Robson Ranch Views and note the time the Creative Arts Center is open. You can check on the longarm schedule or inquire about upcoming special projects. We always like seeing new, curious, and inquiring people.
