Material Girls had an Amazing Year

Marie Stuersel

The Material Girls have experienced a banner year in our mission to create beautiful quilts for charity and residents of Robson Ranch who have a serious life-threatening illness or who have lost a spouse.

Each quilt is stitched with great care and love in order to provide comfort for the recipient and, in 2019, 136 quilts were given as follows: 11 to men, 12 to women, and 1 patriotic to Robson residents; 84 to the Pinal County Advocacy Center; 8 to the Eloy Senior Center; 7 to the Eloy Police to have in their car for a child that must be taken from their home; and 13 to the Casa Grande Cancer Treatment Center.

Your purchases of tickets for the annual raffle quilt drawing brought in funds for the purchase of fabric, batting, and notions to create these quilts and we thank you for your generosity. We welcome new and returning members to join us. A calendar of activities and classes is posted in the Sewing Room at the Creative Arts Center, so stop by any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and see the creativity taking place.
