Material Girls Enjoying “Sew” Much Variety!

Susie Klopp

Get ready—November brings us into the holiday season. Thanksgiving is for family, friends, and food. Lots of food. Then Hanukkah and Christmas are right around the corner.

Friends start coming back with fun stories of their summer vacations and family activities. Of course, we always have a fun time in the sewing studio. I can’t even call it the quilt studio anymore. It’s become so much more than that. We have a continually active embroidery group making all sorts of projects like you saw in October’s Robson Ranch Views issue. Some of us are busy doing wall hangings, placemats, and Hand and Foot mats. Me, I’m into applique. All sorts of applique—machine and hand. Some of our members like to make totes, project bags, purses, and wallets. Others like to make garments. And believe it or not, some even like to make quilts.

On Nov. 19, we are participating in the annual Autumn Arts & Crafts Sale. You may find some of those items you need to enhance your holiday décor. We will also be drawing the winning ticket for the raffle quilt that we have featured in past articles.

I hope that November brings lots of fun activities your way. As always, if you have not been to our studio and are interested in doing stuff with fabric, please stop by and let us show you around.
