Faustina live drama coming to Chandler

Don’t miss Faustina, Messenger of Divine Mercy, a Saint Luke Productions live theatrical one-woman, 90-minute drama being presented on Sunday evening, January 10, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hamilton High School Auditorium in Chandler, Arizona, sponsored by Sun Lakes St. Steven’s Respect Life and Divine Mercy Ministries.

Audiences experience firsthand the spirit and life of Polish mystic Saint Faustina who was born Helena Kowalska in 1905 and through many hardships eventually joined The Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. In 1930 mystical visions started for the young nun, and Jesus appeared to her in a white garment with rays of white and red light emanating from near His heart. He asked her to have a picture painted with the words, “Jesus I Trust in You” at the bottom, which she did, and that was the beginning of the mission of the Divine Mercy. She died of tuberculosis in 1938. St. Faustina’s personal encounters with Jesus have inspired a world-wide devotion to Christ’s Divine Mercy. A parallel modern story within the drama offers audiences a compelling personal connection to the current moral issues of our times. Audiences are calling the production an inspiring dramatic ninety-minute portrayal that taps into human emotions and are encouraging others not to miss this professional production.

Playing the role of Faustina is Maria Vargo, a Hollywood-based actress and a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA}
, Actors’ Equity and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. She has appeared in numerous roles in film, television and theater and is also a singer, songwriter and voice teacher for actors.

For over three decades Saint Luke Productions has produced live dramas, feature films and television, radio and web programming on the lives of the saints and the scriptures.
