Duplicate Bridge Club Player of the Month: Gerri Bradley

Gerri Bradley

Joanne Johnson

Gerri Bradley received the Sapphire Award from the American Contract Bridge Society for having played and earned Master Points with at least four different partners!

She also is a proud mother. Gerri’s son, Brian, is the newly appointed Director of Fish and Wildlife for the Department of Interior, supervising more than 9,000 people in the United States. Brian was sworn in, with his wife Penny holding the Bible, in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 18.

Proud mother Gerri quotes, “As a family, we did a lot of hunting, fishing, camping, and boating.” This led to Brian, at the age of 13, knowing he wanted to be a game warden.

Brian earned a degree in Wildlife Management at the University of Wyoming. His first job was “Reservoir Cop” in Glendo, Wyo. There he met his wife, Penny, who was working at the marina. Subsequently, he held positions as Wyoming Game Warden and State Supervisor. Moving up the ladder, he became the Director of Game and Fish for the state of Wyoming.

During his professional career, Brian also served his country for 36 years in the National Guard. He was deployed twice, once to Iraq and once to Kuwait. Once again, Brian has stepped up to the plate with service to our country.

Congratulations to Brian, and to the “First Mother,” Gerri!
