Don’t miss Robson Unplugged

John Sutton

Our first Robson Unplugged performance in the Grill for this season on November 7, was a smashing success. What a great crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy the performances by the Standard Fare Trio and Larry Marik on his amazing saxophone, flute and clarinet. Our December line up will focus on a variety of musical styles that I believe you will enjoy.

We will start the first set with our own Richard Harris who will play guitar favorites. Richard plays a melodic finger style guitar of popular songs. I know you will enjoy his versions of Ghost Riders in the Sky and Scotch and Soda which is an old Kingston Trio hit. Richard will also have Trish Ambrose and Connie Koza joining him and singing a few Christmas carols. Sing-a-longs are welcome, so bring your voices.

The second set will feature Mariachi Nueva Era. This group has been with us before and features a former student of mine named Martin Calleros as the leader of the band. I think you will enjoy their spirited, foot tapping pieces featuring trumpet, two guitars and bass. It would be a great hour for ordering your favorite margaritas.

The third set will feature Chris Rhule. Chris has also performed for us before and he definitely knows how to engage the audience. Chris will play and sing a variety of songs including some quite difficult jazz standards. He is an accomplished musician who has played in several countries outside of the states and is the manager of our local FM radio station.

Make sure you put this date on your calendar and, as always, we appreciate your support of our local musicians.
