Democratic Club Offers Array of Activities

The new Democratic Club of Robson Ranch is up and running, with more than 60 people signed up so far.

The club has three areas of activity, political, social, and community outreach. Members support the club’s goals, which include registering more voters and electing Democratic candidates. The club has members who are heavily involved in grassroots organizing and other political activity, as well as members who have joined primarily for socializing in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

The club had its own booth at the Eloy Fiestas Patrias on Sept. 17 and 18, to encourage voter registration and obtain signatures for petitions. So far, the Social Committee has arranged a pool party, a brunch, and a women’s luncheon. There is an upcoming social event on Halloween, Oct. 31 (parade viewing and party), and a holiday party planned for Dec. 4. Community outreach projects are still in the planning stages, and there is a NextDoor group open to members for discussion and notices.

Membership is open to all who support the goals of the club, whether registered Democrats or not. Acting officers are Roger Oleson, chairperson; Dal Norris, vice chair; Diana Oleson, treasurer; and Deborah Dorman, secretary.
