Diane Williams
A special thank you goes out to our dedicated Ceramics & Pottery Club monitors for volunteering so much of their time to keep the studio open for so many hours during the last three months.
As all clubs know, without monitors the studios could not operate, therefore, we want to give a huge shout-out and thank you to our monitors who so selflessly volunteer their time. The Ceramics & Pottery Club has been truly fortunate to have 16 members volunteer as monitors. We think this is pretty amazing! Our monitors are Sandy Fried, Diane Oster, Judy Marino, Donna Duran, Donna Beack, Diane Williams, Danny Norman, Grant Simmons, Debbie Olguin, Dee Lee, Mary Ann Bechtel, Pam Carlson, Laurie Waluk, Kathy Laubon, Esther Aar, and CJ Azaria. Studio hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m., weekends are open hours for monitors to volunteer whatever hours fit into their weekend schedules.
Monitors can be kept very busy answering questions and helping out new and longer-term members during shifts, and they spend little time working on their own projects. As a thank you, our monitors can come in during non-studio hours and work on their projects. They also receive $5 off a bag of clay after four times monitoring. All hours volunteered by our monitors are truly appreciated by all.
Typically, there are at least two monitors in the studio at one time, which provides opportunities for more than one monitor to help as needed, to bounce ideas off each other, pass along their specific expertise and knowledge between each other and to members.
As summer approaches, some monitors will be leaving to enjoy their summer homes in a little cooler weather, and it goes without saying that they will be greatly missed.
