The Community Services Department is gearing up for its most popular event of the year, the 23rd Annual Electric Light Parade and Winter Wonderland, sponsored by APS. Featuring over 80 illuminated floats, this annual family favorite is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Festivities for the day begin at 1:00 pm in Downtown Casa Grande with a skating rink, craft area, foo.endors, music, and game booths, all of which are free to the public. Children will also have an opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Herbalicious of Arizona. Live entertainment provided by Casa Grande Main Street will include local music acts and dance groups from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The Electric Light Parade will start at 5:45 pm at the intersection of Florence Blvd. and Colorado St. and will continue on to Florence St. which it will follow until its conclusion at 2nd St. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm in front of City Hall. Road closures for the parade route will be in effect from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and the parade will be held rain or shine. The public is encouraged t.ote online at ELPVote.com for their favorite float, and the winner will receive the People’s Choice Award and be recognized at an upcoming City Council meeting.
