The Girls Next Door band held a “Barbie and Ken” party on Nov. 30 to a full crowd. Many of the attendees dressed in pink and assorted Barbie styles to make for a fun and festive event. The band members are Lisa Hunt, Connie Koza, Connie Drew, and Amy Petersen. Songs from the Beach Boys, Beatles, ABBA, Cyndi Lauper, the Rolling Stones, and many other artists were featured, which resulted in a full dance floor. One of the highlights was Allie DeValk who led the dancers throughout the crowd to the song, “The Locomotion.”
Guests took advantage of the Barbie photo booth, the Barbie bar stool, and Barbie and Ken life-size “boxes” to create a variety of hilarious photos. Connie Drew and the band decorated the venue with Barbie centerpieces, balloons, hats, crazy sunglasses, and other paraphernalia in keeping with the theme. It was a high-energy “happy hour” from 3 to 5 p.m., with many people staying on for dinner at the Tack Room afterward. Good times were had by all!
