Happy New Year! 2024 is here with big plans for lots of sewing and learning new skills. But first, the Material Girls must thank the community for the support we received at the November Craft Show. As microwave bowls and Hand, Knee & Foot mats flew off the tables, we were already planning for our next show in the spring. The dollars we make go toward fabric and equipment for Comfort Quilt construction, and every quilt we donate carries a small part of your goodwill!
The colorful 2023 raffle quilt was won by a lucky member, Trish Raczynski. Trish is an avid quilter and will certainly enjoy hanging this gem in her home. We are already planning next year’s offering, and it is a stunner!
Winter 2024 is full of new classes and opportunities for group sewing. Cherie Bates continues her series on skill building. You will make perfect flying geese every time after her class! Jackie is back with her Button Up Bag class, and Janita is teaching the construction of adult shirt protectors to be donated. Now that we can breathe again after the holiday rush, the sewing studio is humming with creativity!
