Radio Control Club Readies for Winter Season Fun!

Dave Doughty

With the arrival of cooler weather and return of the snowbirds, the Robson Ranch Radio Control (RC) Club is gearing up for another exciting Winter Season of racing and flying.

We started the season off with Drag Racing on Oct. 25 at the Community Arts Center parking lot. We have new hours this year—racing will start at 10 a.m. Racing will continue on Sunday mornings until the season ends on March 21, 2027—with awards and picnic shared with Road Racers on March 25.

Off-Road Racing starts Nov. 3 with RC trucks racing on our Oval track. After two weeks of racing we switch to the Road Track for two weeks. We repeat this cycle until the last race day of the season on March 25, 2027—followed by an awards picnic at the race tracks. Racing starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Flying continued through the summer but goes into full swing now. Pilots have free time to fly whenever they want. Formal competitions and the race for Top Gun will be announced on the club website. Free flying lessons with AMA certified instructors are offered on Wednesday mornings. To schedule, contact Henry Morgan at 503–860-1211.

During the summer, volunteers made several additions to our RC Park facility, including additional pit tables, shading, and repairs. We are ready for competitors and welcome spectators!
