According to Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Coral Springs, dancing makes you smarter. “It’s been scientifically proven that the only physical activity to offer protection against dementia is frequent dancing.” Reading has a 35% reduced risk of dementia, and doing crossword puzzles at least four days a week reduced the risk by 47%. Dancing, however, led the way with a 76% reduced risk. Dancing is a fun, social way to ward off dementia and get exercise all at the same time.
The Line Dance Club offers dance classes four days a week. Tuesday and Thursday classes are for the Intermediate and Improver levels and Wednesday and Friday classes are for the Beginner and Absolute Beginner levels. The next Absolute Beginner class will begin April 20. Information on where and how to register will be in the Mid-Week Scoop email that Nicole sends out to all residents.
The next Line Dance Club party will be Thursday, April 7, in the Hermosa Ballroom for all members of the club. Pizza will be provided by the club, so mark your calendars! More information on the dance party as well as all other pertinent information can be found on the club website at rrazlinedance.wixsite.com/club. Check out the new website, grab your dancing shoes, and join us!
