Happier Hour from Home is held at 4 p.m. every Wednesday on your computer. New and long-term Robson residents are all welcome.
So many of us came to Robson Ranch for all we could do and all the groups we could join. Our ability to be with friends and opportunities to meet new friends has now been limited. Some of our residents have even become more or less housebound.
Randy Petersen was feeling sorry for everyone who is unable to meet in person at Robson, especially our newest residents. So, he proposed a Robson-wide “Happier Hour” online.
So, here’s the idea! All you need is a computer, tablet, or smart phone with a camera, and we can be together. We will be creative too. Our first week will be a “getting to know you” gathering. Each person or couple will just share a little about themselves, like people do at social hours. The painfully shy may just watch and listen. Randy will have a fun and likely unusual way to get to know each other on our first day, on Oct. 7.
The following weeks will have a theme. It may be a subject of interest to get us started. One of us will be put in charge to either present the idea, and/or put forth thoughtful questions. Or, that person may start with a five to 10-minute presentation (at the most) to give meaningful content in an engaging manner. Then we’ll get happy sharing our ideas or just listening in.
The next first Wednesday of the month, we’ll start with the social hour again and getting to know each other even better. We can invite other friends to join in at any time.
We will observe safe conversation rules to respect and protect each other and to keep our group a healthy one. Alcohol in moderation is optional. We all know, we can be happy with or without it.
Again, our first Happier Hour will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7.
If you like the idea and want to be included, please contact Randy Petersen to get signed up. That’s Petersen with an “e”. Make sure to get the right spelling when you email him at [email protected]. (The “o” Randy Peterson might get your email if you’re not careful, and he has no idea who we all are!)
Hope to see you “happier” very soon.
