The Power of 100 Desert Dreamers, the Greater Casa Grande Area 100+ People Who Care Chapter hosted its first gathering here at Robson Ranch on April 8.
Our first luncheon meeting was on April 8 at Robson’s Ranch House. The Director of “Seeds of Hope,” Mark Vanderheyden, shared the great work they are doing in the wider Casa Grande area on behalf of the homeless and other people living on the margins. They’re helping and empowering with programs like free breakfast/lunch six days a week, a Jobs for Life program, free medical clinics, free afterschool care including tutoring and study skills, assisting lonely seniors to reconnect with peers and much more. They are a very worthy recipient of our first campaign.
We are still receiving donations for “Seeds of Hope” if you would still like to give through 100+.
100+ People Who Care is an informal group of men and women who love to give. 100+ is a simple concept with large results.
The math is 100+ people x $100 = $10,000+ for a local charity in one hour. Done four times per year (quarterly) it becomes $40,000+ donated per year. An individual, a household or a team of people can form a Power of 100 and donate $100 per quarter and become ongoing, supporting members. Or you can donate when you like to the chosen non-profit of the quarter.
Our 100+ Desert Dreamers are from all over the Greater Casa Grande area. Some are even donating from other states. We are inviting you and all of your friends to join us in making a real difference in the neediest people’s lives.
100+ People Who Care is for you if:
* Your time is limited but you have a heart for giving and want to give back on a bigger scale than you could do on your own.
* You are willing to commit to one hour every three months.
* You want to learn about, or let other people know about, the amazing work being done by our wonderful non-profits.
* You want to be part of a caring and amazing group of men and women that are making an immediate and positive impact in our community.
* You want 100% of your donation to go directly to a chosen charity.
Other great 100+ People/Women/Men/Children Who Care (WWC) chapters around the U.S. and Canada, have created local philanthropic groups of people who are capable of doing great things in their communities. There are currently over 600 active WWC chapters and over 200 developing chapters in the U.S. and Canada.
The Greater Casa Grande Area 100+ People Who Care and its events are run by an Executive Committee of big-hearted volunteers. The goal of this group is to connect you with worthy charities who are working to make a great difference in the lives of others.
