The Ranch House was alive with activity on Thursday evening, February 4, in anticipation of Lou Nelson’s musical tribute to Tom Jones in the Hermosa Ballroom.
Lou, who closely resembles the real thing (Tom Jones) sang, danced and gyrated his way through a cavalcade of popular hits backed up by an incredible seven-piece band. Recognize any of these? You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Fly Me to the Moon, Green, Green Grass of Home, Once in My Life, She’s a Lady, Save the Last Dance, You Can Leave Your Hat On, What’s New Pussycat and many, many more.
Lou was both personable and approachable and enthusiastically involved the crowd in many of his songs. He ended the evening with a sing along of one of his most well-known numbers, Delilah.
Lou Nelson has been a professional entertainer for over 25 years, first as lead singer for the popular rock band WRABIT whose credits include three internationally released MCA albums featuring a No. 1 hit in Florida and the UK, Anyway Anytime. He also toured with Black Sabbath, Rush, The Guess Who and many others. He then went on to sing national TV and radio commercials and producing shows for the military abroad. These days Lou’s biggest rush has been performing his tribute to one of music’s most recognizable icons, Tom Jones.
In recent years Lou has also enjoyed performing the music of other great artists such as Sinatra, Anka, Elvis, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and many more in his Tribute to Vegas Legends.
