On Oct. 30, members and interested friends of the 100+ People Who Care organization at Robson Ranch met in the Laredo and Cheyenne Rooms at the Ranch House to raise money for two local charities. Representatives from the Casa Grande Alliance and the Hope Women’s Center in Coolidge were there to provide background regarding their organizations and answer questions about their mission and services.
$2,450 was raised and presented to the Casa Grande Alliance. The Casa Grande Alliance is a community resource hub, operating with a mission to build resilient communities. They offer a wide array of essential services including trauma-response prevention education programming, NARCAN distribution and overdose prevention training, Triple-P parenting classes, diaper distribution program, community garden, and food bank.
$2,800 was raised and presented to the Hope Women’s Center of Coolidge (including some contributions received after the event). The Women’s Center of Coolidge is a faith-based, trauma informed nonprofit organization that engages, encourages, and equips vulnerable women and teen girls with education, mentoring, and support by providing support for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Their goal is to equip those that are vulnerable in building healthy relationships, to bring healing and wholeness to traumatized lives, and help them to discover their true value and worth.
100+ People Who Care is an alliance of people who assist local, nonprofit charities in Pinal County, Arizona. One hundred percent of the funds raised go to these charities. Nothing is spent on salaries or administrative overhead. There is a thoughtful nomination and selection process to identify these selected charities in Pinal County. The group meets twice per year (fall and spring) to hear about community needs. If you are interested in joining this group and being part of being an advocate for community nonprofits, contact Tom Moyer at [email protected]. The next 100+ People Event will be held in the spring of 2025.
