10 Years of God’s Steadfast Love

Pastor Larry Sundin

If I had one Scripture to define how God has cared for and nurtured Rock Springs Church for the past 10 years, it’s this one from Psalm 86: But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15

God has been gracious to Rock Springs in many ways. From helping us pack over 15,000 shoeboxes for children through Operation Christmas Child; to helping us provide thousands of meals through the Eloy Food Bank; to moving our people to give generously to the people of Paradise, Calif., when fire ravaged their town, to helping out when the floods devastated Houston, Texas, a few years ago. To giving generously to Samaritan’s Purse when an earthquake struck Turkey and a war broke out in Ukraine in 2023 to the generous outpouring of donations that poured in after Hurricane Helene devastated North CarolinaGod’s generosity has been seen in the compassionate giving of our Rock Springs Church family over and over again these past 10 years. God’s grace has always been alive and well in Rock Springs Church.

God has been very faithful to us as well. My biggest thanks to God for His faithfulness, goes back to the Covid year between March of 2020 to March of 2021. For 52 weeks we were not able to meet in the ballroom for worship. Yet, through the use of Zoom, and the creative ingenuity of our golf cart services in the softball parking lot each Sunday, God’s faithfulness carried us through a difficult and taxing year together and we came out the other side, more resilient and joyful than ever.

God has been merciful to many at Rock Springs Church. Through the work of our mercy team, countless hurting, recovering, sick, and grieving souls have received meals, prayers, and visits that have blessed lives inside and outside our church. Through the ministry of our prayer team, we have seen God answer all kinds of prayers and requests made by our people. And one of the biggest acts of mercy has come to bless us as we’ve had the privilege of seeing so many lives changed by God’s goodness and love, resulting in nearly 30 baptisms over the years.

Finally, God has proven His steadfast love to us in so many ways. But the best way He has never stopped loving us is by how He has given us so many kind, faithful, and loving people who have made Rock Springs Church such a wonderful community to be a part of. After all, our vision has always been to be a people who are helping people become friends, family, and followers of Jesus. So, as we gather to celebrate our 10th anniversary as a church on Feb. 2, we will be celebrating our merciful, gracious, and faithful God who has made Rock Springs possible. And we’d love for you to celebrate with us. Rock Springs Church gathers to worship every Sunday in the ballroom at 9 a.m. And we’d love it if you choose to celebrate with us!
