It’s that time of year when many pickleball players are migrating south, and we are anticipating an exciting new season of fun, social play and competition. Here’s what we have to look forward to in the fall.
Election of board members
Three positions (two-year terms) will be up for election: vice-president, treasurer and member at large. Nominees are planned to be announced the first week of October with elections to follow in the third week. The current members who will remain for a second year of their terms are president, Bob Burtch; secretary, Gary Ocheltree; at-large, Rick Kline; and at-large, Connie Koser.
USAPA Nationals
Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort will be hosting the USAPA Nationals, November 4-14. Final day for registration is October 13, 2016. Courts will be open for practice at 10:00 a.m. November 4 and will remain open through the optional player social that evening.
Players may play in the age divisions so long as they are a member in good standing of the USAPA. The Senior Open is open to players age 50 and above and must have an IFP rating of 4.5 or above. The tournament will not have skill level events (3.5, 4.0 etc.). For more information go to www.usapa.org.
