Many thanks to those of you who attended our meet the authors’ events earlier this year. These gatherings provide an opportunity for members of the Robson Ranch community to meet the authors (also residents of the Ranch), hear presentations from their works, and to ask questions.
Author Mary Beth Fisher will be the presenter for the September installment of the Chapter & Verse series sponsored by the Robson Ranch Library and Write On…, the Robson Ranch writer’s workshop. Mary Beth was born and raised in Wyoming but has lived on the Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota, the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Santa Barbara, and the Colorado Rockies. She and her husband, George (with whom she just celebrated 66 years of marriage), have lived in Robson Ranch for the past 19 years. They have four daughters, five grown grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mary Beth’s background also includes 46 years in nursing and five years in real estate.
She joined the Write On… group when it was first established but soon became busy with other activities including art. But she is passionate about writing as she believes that everyone has a story. This belief has become more important to her after getting involved with the Robson Ranch genealogy group. She states that she “wished my family had written their stories down. Not the ones everybody knows, the funny ones, the scary ones, the beautiful ones, and the sad.”
Mary Beth is a regular contributor to the Robson Ranch Views newspaper. An avid reader throughout her life, she believes reading is what brings someone into the world outside of themselves. It helps a person understand people and places; it plants ideas into the reader’s head. She writes what she knows. And her stories and experiences will form the foundation for her presentation on Friday, Sept. 25.
Please plan to join Mary Beth, Write On…, and the Robson Ranch Library for our September Chapter & Verse presentation. Doors open at 10 a.m. The program begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by an invitation for discussion. Comments and questions are welcome. We’ll wrap up around noon.
The meet the author events will conclude for 2026 on Oct. 30 with Larry Ginn. We will resume following the Thanksgiving and December holiday on Jan. 29, 2027. The calendar of presentations for next year has not yet been determined but will be released soon. In addition, Write On… meets every Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room for support and encouragement from fellow authors and would-be authors. Come join us!
