Robson residents went on a surfin’ safari on Sunday, August 2, with “Catch a Wave: A Tribute to The Beach Boys.” The tribute band took to the stage and entertained the audience with an array of hits by the Beach Boys; they also threw in some B-sides and rarities.
The band energized the crowd as fans took over the floor next to the stage dancing along with their favorite surfer songs. The group adeptly performed songs which spanned the band’s illustrious career, songs from the surfer pop era of Surfin’ Safari to the more psychedelic experimentations from the Pet Sounds era of the group. They rallied the crowd with their renditions of Surfer Girl, 409, Wouldn’t it Be Nice? and Good Vibrations.
The band members graciously made themselves available to fans after the show to share comments and answer questions. They also had a CD of one of their shows available for those who wanted to take home a memento of the evening.
Next up to end our summer of concerts here at the Ranch is the Mike James Comedy Show on Sunday, September 6. Come enjoy an evening of lighthearted humor with your neighbors.
