Once again, Kimo Dejon, fellow Robson Ranch resident and travel professional, organized and escorted a group of Robson Ranch (RR) residents and others on a bucket list cruise trip, this time to the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

As a certified Windstar Cruises STAR Specialist, among other travel certifications, Kimo was able to offer a complete cruise package discounted from normal pricing, with shipboard credits and perks for only the group.

On Jan. 18, many in our RR travel group flew to St. Maarten in the Eastern Caribbean and adjusted to the warm 80-plus degree temperatures and hunkered down at the all-inclusive Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino.

Yes, all of our food and beverages, at all of the five restaurants, were included at this beachfront resort.

Maho Beach is the famous place where the sun-seeking winter snowbirds flock to and their arriving airplanes approach the SXM runway just a few yards above onlookers’ heads—you can view multiple YouTube videos of this crazy happening.

On Jan. 21 we all headed over to the Phillipsburg cruise terminal to check in for our cruise/sailing on the Windstar Cruises flagship yacht—the beautiful Wind Surf—with only 342 guests and an international crew of 210, the 5-star service is legendary.

Windstar Cruises is the official partner of the renowned James Beard Foundation and the food and beverage offerings are superb in any of the three restaurants onboard—the Stella Bistro, the Amphora, and the alfresco Candles steakhouse.

All of our group chose the all-inclusive Captain’s Package, which included all beverages, all gratuities, and all Wi-Fi for the entire sailing. We all agreed that this was the way to go!

Our Robson Ranch Travel Group also had a private cocktail party with sumptuous appetizers hosted by Kimo.

We also had an incredible deck barbecue on the fourth night of our cruise, and the signature event of the Wind Surf sailing was our private beach barbecue on the island of Virgin Gorda.

Our itinerary included Antigua; Tortola; Jost Van Dyke (home of the world-famous Soggy Dollar Bar, where the Pain Killer cocktail was invented); Virgin Gorda, where the top shore excursion in all of the BVI, the Baths, is located; and last but not least, we stopped at St. Barts—home to the rich and famous in this cruising mecca of the BVI.

The captain and the entire crew couldn’t do enough for our group and the crew talent show was a highlight of our sailing—many of the crew were very talented.

Our next Robson Ranch Travel Group cruise is an 11-night, all-inclusive (airfare, cruise, hotel, transfers, etc.) sailing in Tahiti, the Society Islands, and the Tuamotu islands in French Polynesia on June 28 on the beautiful Windstar Cruises yacht, the Wind Spirit—under a Tahitian full moon.
