For the second year, the Robson Ranch Softball Club (RRSC) volunteered at Palo Verde Elementary School in Casa Grande, working with the Palo Verde Elementary School Kindergarten classes. The softball club members and spouses assisted the students with building wooden benches as part of the kindergarten science unit on wood products. Approximately 20 volunteers spent the morning working with students, helping them with sanding, assembling, and hammering the wood into benches.
The effort was put together by Katrina Sugar, Robson Ranch resident, retired Kindergarten teacher, and current school aide at Palo Verde. The softball club members also raised the funds to purchase the wood and other supplies with their generous donations.
Katrina and the kids want to thank the entire RRSC for their generosity and time in making the project an overwhelming success. And, judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces, a great time was had by all!
