Our November guest speaker was Gina Swoboda, who has been working with the Voter Reference Foundation to make every state’s voter rolls and vote data available to the citizenry. She has also worked with the Arizona legislature on bills to improve voter confidence in election results.
Federal law requires voter lists to be maintained. One of the basic ways to improve voter confidence in election results is to keep voter rolls up to date by identifying dead voters, voters who have moved and no longer live at their registration addresses, and voters registered improperly at P.O. boxes and vacant addresses. Providing citizens with access to voting data is essential to this task.
Other election concerns include Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) and open primaries, drop boxes, voter signature verification, state vote recounts, and emergency voting.
