100+ People Who Care met on Oct. 30 in the Laredo Room at the Ranch House at 10 a.m. where they met with two local nonprofits: Casa Grande Alliance and Hope Women’s Center of Coolidge.
The Casa Grande Alliance (CGA), founded in 1989 as a substance use prevention coalition, has been steadfastly serving youth, families, and communities throughout Pinal County. In 2009, CGA, Inc. was established as a nonprofit charitable organization to formalize its community coalition efforts. Since then, CGA has evolved into a pivotal community resource hub, operating with a mission to build resilient communities. Today, Casa Grande Alliance offers a wide array of essential services, including trauma-response prevention education programming for youth and adults, NARCAN distribution and overdose prevention training, evidence-based Triple-P parenting classes, a community food bank, diaper distribution program, and a community garden. Additionally, CGA provides a reentry program aiding individuals returning from incarceration, peer support for justice-involved veterans, a youth leadership coalition, a DES-approved childcare program, and comprehensive resource navigation assistance. Their dual community coalitions represent a cohesive network of organizations dedicated to fostering individual, family, and community resiliency.
Hope Women’s Center of Coolidge is a faith based, trauma informed, nonprofit organization that provides vulnerable women and teen girls with education, mentoring, and support. Their mission is to engage, encourage, and equip vulnerable clients by providing support for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Their goal is to equip women in building healthy relationships, bring healing and wholeness to traumatized lives, and help women discover their true value and worth. The Center has been in the charity community for 40 years and has changed 8,000 lives for the better. Hope is currently serving in six communities throughout Arizona. They provide one-to-one mentoring and support groups; life skills, parenting, and faith-based education classes; pregnancy testing and counseling; celebrate recovery and substance use disorder prevention; counseling and support; job skills classes and training; Every Mother’s Advocate program; grief and loss support; Women’s Boutique; community resources and referrals; and a children’s program.
If your time is limited, but you love to give; you want to learn about the amazing work being done by our wonderful nonprofits; you want to be part of a caring and amazing group of men and women; and you want 100% of your donation to go directly to a local charity—consider joining us. The time commitment is one hour twice a year. The goal is simple: if 100 people give $100 to worthy nonprofits in our local area, that is $10,000! When done two times per year (semi-annually) it becomes $20,000 donated per year. If $100 is too much, someone can form a team of two to make $100. The group helps nonprofits assisting those most in need in our Pinal County communities.
