Back by popular demand, The Fine Arts Guild held a palette knife acrylic painting class instructed by Nils Johnson. The class practiced the use of the palette knife with different angles and strokes to make a forest of birch or aspen trees. Shades of gray were added to a white paper to make the area between the trees. Black was used to help texture the trees. The participants also used the palette knife only to create a landscape picture.

The attendees showing off their birch trees were: Dee Lee, Maryan Hopkins, Don Helmstetter, Deborah Dougless, Desiree Conwell, Laurie Laramie, Concepta Savage, Fran Fowler, Paula Lambert, Doreen Beers, and Marie Thompson.
